So, we have finished tracking our LP, I think. We will start mixing at some inopportune moment where I want to do something else, I'm sure of. Anyway, after our 7" on Criminal Iq records being out for like 2 years now, and we finally got a bad review of it. I was let down that it was by a British guy that probably doesn't understand the rules of football, or what it's like to go to a dentist, but I'll take it. Check out his review here. Check out his amazing band here.
Hopefully he reads this and wants to hang out with me when I go to England this summer.
We have some shows coming up. I will post those soon.

we are still alive, kinda
Hello Friends,
We forgot to update this thing, or spent the last 5 months attempting to repress any and all memories of our west coast tour, and didn't really feel like letting you all know what we've been up to.
After getting bumped out of our recording spot by Mushroomhead, we decided to go ahead and record the LP with the tightest dude in Pittsburgh, Jason Jouver. You may know him as the normal guy from Don Caballero, but we know him as Mr. Mother Fucking Recording Guy. Dude has been making shitty bands sound good for years now, and hopefully our session with him will be no different. Right now we have recorded the drums and they sound like drums, so we are on the right track.
We have been invited to play the Chaos In Tejas festival in Austin, Tx this year. You can use google to find out the line up and how fucking boss it is that we are playing on the same show as Bastard, Marked Men and Rival Mob. I just shook my magic 8 ball to see how the trip will turn out and all it said was "All signs point to no."

We are going on a tour of the West Coast in a mere 9 days. Demonstrating nothing

A fellow Willie Nelson fan named Robert Collins was kind enough to post our demo in mp3 format for you sniveling pieces of shit that were too good to give me three dollars for this thing when I had 200 copies of it sitting in my bedroom, taking up space that could have been more wisely used for gun or pornography storage. Go here to download it, and go to http://terminalescape.blogspot.com to check out beardo's blog. Maybe drop him a line and tell him what your favorite Waylon Jennings song is so you do not feel so inconsequential to these great feats of humanity that have occurred with the creation, recording and then posting of music to the internet. Welcome to the future. Shit is cool.

Winning Is Our Business
Once again, we took a break from being punk rock music guys and watched the other legendary franchise from Pittsburgh win the Stanley Cup. Somehow all the day to day bullshit of record labels, tours and message boards are put in place when you see everyone's pal, Max Talbot throw up the Cup over his head. I have debated selling all of my guitar gear in order to have a replica stanley cup made for myself, so I can relive the glory every morning. Also, go here to see Hossa choke back tears like a 15 year old boy getting dumped by his girlfriend for a guy that can drive.
In case you forgot, the Steelers also won the Super Bowl this year, so we are pretty happy with life right now. This probably means our next record will be twee-pop and all songs will be about ice cream and having friends. Before that happens, we have the following shows coming up:
Friday July 24th
31st Pub
Pittsburgh, PA
w/ Mannequin Men
Davila 666
Kim Phuc
The Fitt
Wednesday July 29th
The Brillobox
Pittsburgh, PA
w/ Obits
Disappears
Kim Phuc
We will have new shirt designs printed up shortly, have started demoing for our first lp and are planning on doing some more out of town stuff. If you want us to come to your city or do an interview, email at goldenhappiness@gmail.com, please refrain from using the trailer park of the internet known as myspace. If you are a Detroit Red Wings fan please send $1 to "sorry dude, 742 evergreen terrace, springfield"

For the stupid, I will explain what has happened in this picture. Santonio Holmes caught a touchdown pass in the end zone with less than 2 minutes left in Super Bowl XLIII, putting the Steelers up 27-23, thus winning their NFL record 6th Super Bowl Championship. Most of you will never understand sports, pride or victory, but for us, this was the most important thing to happen in the last 3 years. The band decided to take some time off from playing shows to focus on the drive to glory, and the impending celebration. Our friend Mikey from Dear Skull records won the lottery of his life recently and has been given the opportunity to release our newest single on his up and coming label. Congrats friend, on your soon to be best selling release. "Weird Skies" should be out in time for our trip to SXSW. Fingers have been crossed, sigils have been charged. Upon return, we will have a split 7" giveaway available for National Record Store Day, courtesy of Mikey and Dear Skull. The often controversial song "Rustbelt Noose" will be on this record, and will be paired up with a jam from the band Centipede Eest. As some of you may already know, "Rustbelt Noose" was a song written by the original line up of Kim Phuc and has become a source of contention amongst the current members. In addition, the song details the mundane existence of a typical Pittsburgher, their willingness to settle, self medicate and overstate their own importance. The subjects of the song are typically too dull witted to actually extrapolate a meaning on their own and will just continue on with drunken yelps from the bar "wooooo play that rustbelt song."
Here are some upcoming shows we have planned:
Friday 3/13 Kim Phuc, Full Color, Pikock @ gooskis pittsburgh, pa
Monday 3/16 Masshysteri/KimPhuc/ConfidenceMen @ Roboto Pittsburgh, PA
Thursday 3/19 sxsw warehouse party. austin, tx
Friday 3/20 sxsw w/100 bands @ club 1808 austin, tx
Saturday 3/21 sxsw Dillinger 4, Annihilation Time @ beerland austin, tx
Friday 4/17 FNU Ronnies, Electric Bunnies, Pink Reason, Drunkdriver, Baby Bird, Kim Phuc, Terrible Two's @ Belvederes Pittsburgh, PA

Thanks to all that came out last weekend for our Columbus and Chicago shows. Many apologies to everyone in Cleveland, as a delayed flight caused us to miss the show. We are done mixing the new single and the first person to land me a date with Katy Perry gets to release it. Songs on this one will be "Weird Sky" b/w "Suicide Circle."
We have a review of "wormwood star" in The Wire this month, and as a result we got a write up in the Pgh Post Gazette, which made for some interesting Christmas dinner conversation. We will be playing some shows at SXSW this year. Come hang.
Merry Christmas, Christian dogs.
